     We Lift Up Our Hearts
As of Sunday, September 13, 2020, we have resumed in-person worship in the sanctuary with strict social-distancing guidelines. The following changes have taken place.
Worshippers are required to wear masks and follow appropriate physical distancing.
Hand sanitizer stations are available to use at the doorways.
The choir will offer music by projection.
The words to the hymns will be projected and should be hummed rather than sung.
The offering will be received in receptacles by the door.
Communion (first Sunday of each month) will be offered with pre-filled communion sets.
At this time, for everyone's safety, we are not offering coffee hour afterwards.
All are welcome to worship with us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  Our style is "warmly liturgical."  That means that we follow the same general pattern each week, but there is always room for spontaneity, laughter, sorrow, and the whole range of what it means to be authentic people in the presence of God.  Our Pastor offers Biblical insights to us that have direct relevance to our everyday lives.  Our choir and handbell ringers lift our hearts in praise by providing excellent quality music in a variety of genres, from classical to contemporary. We welcome young families and have a well-equipped and staffed nursery/playroom, as well as a play area in the narthex. Following worship, all are welcome to join us in our Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments.
All are invited to participate in the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, offered on the first Sunday of each month, and on several other occasions during the church year.  We offer healing rituals as part of our worship three to four times per year. Anyone in need of physical, spiritual or emotional healing is welcome to come forward for a special prayer from the church Elders.  For a complete list of special services offered, please see the Special Services section: http://urcsomerville.org/index.php/ministries/special-services
