Holy Happy Hour

On Friday, December 9, 2022, we will meet in the church lounge and try something new. We're going to gather informally at 5:30 p.m. for the crowd of anyone who likes to go out to eat on a Friday evening. We'll have Christmas-themed discussion and activity. It won't be exactly worship, but it will have a spiritual flavor. It won't actually be Happy Hour, since we don't serve alcohol at church. But it will be a time to gather in a safe place with friends, to deepen relationships, and so (over time) to make a life that is more joyful and resilient. Interested? Come on by at 5:30 for about 30-45 minutes of letting down your work-guard and setting the best possible tone for your weekend.

Gingerbread Houses & Cookie Exchange

The social activities committee has planned a festive activity for after worship on Sunday, December 11, 2022.  Houses come pre-assembled, so all you have to do is the fun part -decorate! Please RSVP to the church office by December 5th if you’d like to attend. The cost is $10 per house. For the cookie exchange, bring 2 dozen to share and take 2 dozen home.

Christmas Eve Services – Saturday, December 24th

Community Caroling Pilgrimage - 4:00 p.m.

Join us for an outdoor community caroling pilgrimage. We’ll walk several blocks of downtown Somerville, stopping to say prayers and to sing a verse or two of familiar carols.

Traditional Christmas Eve Worship - 8:00 p.m.

Our traditional Christmas Eve service will include carols, an inspirational message from Pastor Janssen and candle-lighting while singing to Silent Night.

Book Club on Main

The next meeting of our “Book Club on Main” is scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the church lounge.  For more information about the book club, feel free to call the church office.

Sunday School & Youth Group Open House

Our Sunday School and Youth Group will host an open house on January 22, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., which will include a special, meaningful service project; making Valentines for Veterans. The cards will be given to Operation Shoe Box to distribute.  This is a great opportunity for parents to meet our Christian Education committee and learn about our curriculum.  We welcome all kids aged pre-k through 8th grade. For more information, please see call the church office.
